TIM CASEY has more than 16 years of diversified real estate investment experience. He joined Beacon Realty Capital as a Vice President in 2003 with a broad commercial real estate background in finance, acquisitions and appraisal.
He has closed more than $465 million in transactions, representing such institutional clients as the State of Florida Investment Board, Delta Air Lines Master Trust, Manufactured Home Communities, Inc and the Zell/Merrill Lynch Opportunity Funds.
Mr. Casey began his career in 1987 at Real Estate Analysis Corporation, a real estate tax consulting company in Chicago. Within five years, he was elected to the Executive Management Committee and became a partner.
In 1992, Mr. Casey joined Arthur Andersen & Company as a Senior Tax Consultant focusing on real estate. Among his larger clients was the Zell/Merrill Lynch Opportunity Funds, which lead to an opportunity to join a Zell-related company, Equity Group Investments. While there, he learned the real estate acquisition process and for five years focused on the office and manufactured home community sectors.
In 1998, Mr. Casey joined Nomura Securities International as a Vice President responsible for conduit mortgage loan production nationally for the manufactured home community industry. Upon Nomura's decision to exit the U.S. mortgage business, he joined Lend Lease Real Estate Investments as a regional acquisition officer responsible for originating, structuring, and closing institutional quality office, industrial and retail investments throughout the Midwest.
A 1987 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Mr. Casey earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in Real Estate and Finance. A licensed real estate broker in Illinois, he is also an active member of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, the Chicago Real Estate Investment Advisory Council and the Mortgage Bankers Association of America.
